Injection mould design from your 3D file

Ventorah turns a plastic part into a complete injection-mould concept in your browser: how the tool opens, how the plastic gets in, how it cools and how the part comes out — then cuts the cavity, core and every plate as real geometry you can open in CAD.

What the mould design covers

Part analysis

Pull direction with the least undercut, the core side, the parting line (flat or stepped with 5° shut-offs), wall thickness, draft, ribs, bosses and sharp inside corners.

Side actions

Each undercut is assigned a slider with its angle pin or a lifter, sized from the undercut depth and cut as separate steel.

Layout and feed

1 to 16 cavities on a two-plate, three-plate or hot-runner tool; gates placed on thick sections; a flow-balanced organic runner or a straight runner; sprue, cold-slug wells and vents.

Filling estimate

A 2.5-D fill on the part shows the fill pattern, weld lines, air traps and the pressure needed — enough to move a gate before you commit to steel.

Cooling and ejection

Drilled or conformal cooling circuits kept clear of every pin, with flow and temperature rise; ejector pins, sleeves on bosses and bores, blades on ribs or a stripper ring, and the ejection force.

Process and tool

Clamp tonnage, machine fit, cycle time, shot weight, mould base and plate stack, tool steel and SPI class for the production volume and finish.

A feasibility check on every design

Before you see the steel, the design is checked that the tool can actually run:

Questions

What files can I use?
STL, OBJ, GLB and STEP. Meshes that are not watertight are repaired automatically before the steel is cut.
Which plastics are supported?
PP, HDPE, ABS, PS, PC, PA6 (nylon), POM (acetal), PMMA (acrylic) and PBT, with glass-filled grades for directional shrinkage.
What do I get out of it?
A full design report and the mould as STL files: cavity insert, core insert, every plate, ejectors, sliders and lifters, as separate files, a ZIP or one assembly.
Is it a replacement for mould-flow analysis?
No. It is a concept design from standard toolmaking rules with a 2.5-D filling estimate. Confirm gating, packing, warpage and cooling with a full mould-flow analysis and your toolmaker before cutting steel.
Is it free?
You can design moulds for four sample parts for free. Uploading your own parts is part of the Pro plan.
